How do I become a member of the bowling club?

Go to the CONTACT THE CLUB page and fill in an application form or telephone or text. There are a number of membership options that you will find via the MEMBERSHIP OPTIONS button at the top of the page. We will take it from there.

Are there any age limits to becoming a member of the bowling club?

YES. The youngest category for membership is age 7 simply because of the ability to hold a bowl. However, if a young person is keen to try bowling they will be made very welcome at the club. There is no upper limit.

Are there accessibility issues at the bowling club?

YES. At the moment we cannot offer full accessibility to the clubhouse and the green. However, we are investigating the options available and hope to make progress later this year.

What is the season for the bowling club?

The season normally starts April and ends September.

What times does the bowling club open?

At present the green is open for club nights on Mondays and Fridays from 6.00 to 8.30 and Sundays from 2.00pm to 5.00pm. Home match fixtures are normally played on Tuesdays at 2.00pm and Wednesdays at 6.00pm. Friendly matches are normally played on a Saturday afternoon. Provided there are no matches being played members have open access to the green at any time of day via a security code  

Can I try bowling without becoming a member ?

YES.  We offer "come and try" sessions to anybody who would like to try bowls, but who does not want to commit right away. There is no obligation to join the club, and you can come to one or more sessions until you decide. Coaches will be on hand to help you in any way they can.

Can I come along and watch the bowling?

YES.  You are very welcome to come and watch and hopeful support the teams. There are benches around the green so you can sit and enjoy the activities (and hopefully the sun!!)

Can the bowling club provide me with bowls and shoes if I want to try bowling?

YES.  We have a number of sets of bowls and shoes that can be borrowed to allow people to try bowling. But all you need is a flat soled pair of shoes or trainers so they won't damage the green. 

Are there coaches at the club who can help me get started and how much will it cost?

YES.  We have a number of qualified coaches who will be happy to help in any way they can. All coaching provided is free of charge. Please get in touch.

Are there competitions that I can enter if I join the bowling club?

YES.  There are two main external competitions that the club enters though the West Fife Bowling Association - the League and the BABB. There are also a number of internal club competitions and friendly matches that are open to all playing members.

If I don't want to play bowls can I still become a member ?

YES.  There are two options currently available. One is applying for a SOCIAL membership. This enables members to attend events at reduced rates. The other is apply to be a volunteer. There are many small jobs around the green and the clubhouse which you could help with. We also entertain visiting teams and run events, and extra hands are always welcome with food and drinks.

If I am not a member can I attend club events ?

YES.  Everybody is normally very welcome to attend club events. A programme of events and activities will be posted on the website once firm dates have been set. Should there be an occasion where this is not possible this will be clearly marked on the accompanying documentation. 

Does the bowling club accept donations to help with the clubs activities

YES PLEASE !!! We would be most grateful for any contributions in cash, services or other means that can be used to help develop and grow the club, its activities, and its facilities.
